DPV’s offer a thrilling way to see a lot of underwater territory in a brief amount of time. They scoot you through the water without kicking. Want to visit that offshore reef from the beach? A DPV may be the way to go.

The PADI DPV Speciality Course is to familiarize divers with the skills, knowledge, planning, organisation, procedures, problems, hazards and excitement of using DPV’s

What do I need to start?

• PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another organization)
• Minimum age: 12 years old

What will I do?

Following completion of the DPV course you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate practical knowledge and planning procedures that make diving with a DPV fun.
  • Plan and organise dives to safely use diver propulsion vehicles within depths and conditions as good as or better than those the student has been trained in
  • Identify the Hazards of DPV diving and procedures required to minimise those hazards
