Why PADI TEC 45?

 

The Tec 45 course picks up where Tec 40 leaves off and takes your training as a Tec diver further and deeper. It is the second sub-course in the full PADI Tec Diver course. You will learn the skills, equipment and planning needed to dive to a maximum of 45 metres/145 feet. You will acquire the knowledge to plan and execute single and repetitive decompression dives using a single stage cylinder of EANx or oxygen to accelerate or add conservatism to the decompression stops.

 

What do I need to start?

 

  • Be a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another organisation)

  • Be a PADI Enriched Air Diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another organisation)

  • Be a PADI Deep Diver (or hold a qualifying certification from another organisation)

  • PADI Tec 40 (or hold a qualifying certification from another organisation)

  • Have a minimum of 50 logged dives, of which at least:

  • 12 dives were made with enriched air nitrox deeper than 18 metres/60 feet

  • 6dives (with or without EANx) were deeper than 30 metres/100 feet

  • At least 18 years old

  • Have a medical statement signed by a physician

 

What will I do?

 

The course builds on the TEC 40 content with extended coverage of equipment considerations, oxygen tracking, decompression dive planning along with practical experience using twinsets and stage cylinders.

  • 1 session of theory review and exam.

  • 2 days Open Water diving where you will practise:-

  • Gas shut downs

  • Gas sharing ascent

  • Stage cylinder removal and replacement

  • DSMB deployment

  • Deco gas switching

  • Swim techniques

  • 2-3 days

  • PADI TEC Manual & Crew-Pak

  • A twinset/wing + stage cylinders are required for the TEC 45 course

  • Dive site entry fees and gases

Where can I go from here?

 

The DSAT TEC 45 Course leads on naturally to the TEC 50 Course. TEC 40 + TEC 45 + TEC 50 courses together combine to create the DSAT TEC DEEP Qualification
